Hiram Larew
About the speaker
Larew is Director of the Center for International Programs in USDA¹s National Institute of Food and Agriculture. As such he helps guide a diversity of USDA¹s international programs that support global programs in agriculture, natural resource management and related fields on several U.S. campuses. Most recently, his office has been involved in helping to revitalize extension systems in Iraq, improve food aid products through innovative research, and sponsor the ever-popular International Science and Education competitive grants program. He has also worked at USAID, and with USDA¹s Agricultural Research Service. He¹s also a nationally published poet. His B.S.A is from UGA (Horticulture), and he received his Masters (Botany) and Ph.D. (Entomology) from Oregon State University.
